Weddings are a cause for celebration, but also frustration if you’re the one organising everything. There are so many different types of people and age groups at a wedding, and although it’s your big day, you still want each and every one of them to enjoy themselves.
There are several tricks you can use though for making sure that this happens, while you still get to have the unusual wedding you’ve always wanted. Today on Marry Me Ink, I’m sharing a few ideas I had for alternative wedding twists that everyone is bound to adore.
1. Have fun with your flowers
Flowers don’t have to be a boring addition to your wedding. If you guys are a crazy couple, then your arrangements can be equally off-the-wall. It’s always best to speak to a florist first about the ideas you have, as they’ll be able to tell you what’s possible.
Even better than that is to get in touch with your venue co-ordinator, and ask them if they have any florists that they’d recommend. If they’ve worked with them before, then they’ll understand the venue, where to place things, what will look incredible and what will look average.
Whether it’s centrepiece skulls laden with black and red roses, or birdcages stuffed with bright pink blossoms, pair up your creativity with an expert. You can have your alternative twists, but they’ll be designed in a way that people will fall in love with.
2. Make sweet music together
Music is always a tricky subject; you might be heavy metal lovers, but you don’t want your relatives to leave early because they can’t stand it. Being alternative with your music choices and who you choose can be a real benefit to you on the big day, so it’s essential that you pick a company that can provide everything you need.
For example, if you’re scouting for a wedding band in Leeds, Vibetown is the best place to start. They can provide everything from a string quartet to a live band, as well as lighting and equipment as part of their service. You’ll have far less stress on the day as you won’t have to co-ordinate different musical acts, but your family and friends are kept happy too.
3. Creative cake designs
Cake designs are not what they used to be, and you can turn them into a real feature piece of your wedding. It doesn’t matter whether your theme is superheroes, Super Mario or the super bowl – you can have anything turned into a cake-lover’s fantasy.
Or, stray away from it completely and go for a tower of doughnuts or a mountain of profiteroles. Click here for more dessert inspiration, and you can guarantee that people won’t be able to stop photographing it!
I hope this has given you a few ideas for how to add twists that appeal to all of your guests. Do you have any tips of your own? I’d love to hear them.
