Photo Gift Ideas + Shutterfly

Look at all these cute little goodies I just got! Have you heard of Shutterfly? If not, you are missing out! Not only do they offer photo prints, but they also have gorgeous photo books, home décor, TONS of photo gifts, and more! I was planning to only order two mugs for Mother’s Day gifts, but as you can see, I went a little crazy. So just a warning, this is going to be a long post! ;)Photo Gift Ideas + ShutterflyI was able to knock out a bunch of gifts using just one photo of my little one. I decided not to go through tons and tons of my pictures, I just picked my favorite and ran with it! Okay, so I didn’t actually run anywhere, but that’s even more awesome. I just sat down with a glass of wine water, uploaded my photo, and started customizing my gifts! It was so quick and easy to do. The hardest part was waiting for my gifts to arrive!Photo Gift Ideas + ShutterflyThere are SOOO many fun photo gifts and I had a hard time picking what I wanted. But I knew that I was going to be ordering a few photo mugs so that’s where I started. My mom had one with a photo of my sisters and I when we were little, and she still talks about that thing! So I knew she would love to have one with her granddaughter's picture on it. So I picked the Monogram Black Mug, ditched the monogram, and customized it to say, “I love my Grandma”. Of course I wanted to get one for my mother-in-law too! So I actually ended up with two of these:Photo Gift Ideas + ShutterflyThen I came across the Stache Mug and knew I was getting one for hubby too! Instead of using his name, I customized it to say “Daddy’s mug”. Wouldn’t this make the PERFECT Father’s Day gift?! That’s what I originally ordered it for. But after I got it, I gave it to him for his birthday instead because I couldn’t wait any longer!

Honestly, I was expecting the mug to have some cheap looking sticker thing across it after looking at the picture and seeing the price {these babies are only $13.99 and mine was on sale too!}. But when I got it, I was blown away at the quality and how great it looked! No cheap sticker. It’s awesome.Photo Gift Ideas + ShutterflyThen I figured I should probably order a few {and by a few I mean five} prints since it is my favorite picture. They turned out great! And then I added five of these adorable little magnets to my cart to give to my sisters, mom, and mother-in-law. These are the Hello Love Magnet. Oh. my. gosh. Seriously adorable! The text is much cuter and more clear in person. Yes. I kept one. ;)Photo Gift Ideas + ShutterflyAnd then somehow I mysteriously ordered something for myself! Oopsie. I hate it when that happens. I got a Pewter Key Ring to jazz up my boring set of keys. It is so cute and wee {I had a hard time getting a good picture of it, so this one doesn’t do it justice}! Photo Gift Ideas + ShutterflyAnd this is only a small portion of what you’ll find on Shutterfly! I ordered prints and photo books from them a few years ago and I love them. But this is the first time I’ve ordered anything else and I am so happy with all of it! I also have to mention their awesome customer service. I messed up the covers on my very first photo book order, and they let me fix it and shipped new ones out for free. Yeah. Awesome!

Try it! You’ll like it! :)

“Dad” Tie Bunting and Card: Free Printables

OK, I know this is really last minute {story of my life} but I wanted to share this little Father’s Day idea with you anyway. It’s really quick and easy to do. So let’s get to it while we still have time! Our daughter and I will be serving hubby breakfast in bed on Father’s Day. I already painted a special mug for his coffee {find the tutorial here}, but I needed a little something more. I keep seeing adorable Father’s Day printable bunting that you can stick on a cake. But the only type of cake hubby will be getting for breakfast, is pancakes!! So why not stick bunting in a pile of those??I made tie-shaped bunting to match his coffee mug. And also made a simple Father’s Day card while I was at it. I’m happy to share both printables with you!!Just click the PDF file links below, and save them to your computer. Then print them out and start cutting!!

For the bunting, fold the double-sided ties in half. Place some baker’s twine in between a folded tie and glue the tie together. Repeat the last step until they’re all on your twine. Then wrap the ends of your twine around a skewer or straw and insert into a huge stack of pancakes. If you want to use the ties to stick in a muffin or some fruit, just cut out the single-sided ties and glue them to toothpicks. You now have super cute fruit! Or muffins. The card is even easier. Just write a little something on the front or back of it and you’re done. My kiddo signed it herself. Yep, that cute little scribble would be her name!

Want the printables?? Here they are!! Click the links below the pictures to save them to your computer.

Father’s Day Gift: Daddy’s Coffee Mug

Finding the perfect man-gift is always a challenge for me. There have been many times that I just make my husband’s favorite meal because I can’t come up with anything else. So I wanted to make him something special this Father’s Day. Something that will last longer than a few minutes. After thinking about it for a while, I finally decided on this painted coffee mug. Our daughter’s thumbprints form the shape of a heart and make it even more special. It’s perfect! Unless he drops it. Better make two just in case. I’ve seen some really cute painted mugs lately, which planted the seed for this idea. It is the perfect gift for him, because hubby loves coffee. He is a big turd until he has a cup in the morning. So I’m all about providing him with an extra special cup of coffee when he wakes up. Phew! The hard part is done, now on to the fun part!

Let’s make a special {and inexpensive} Father’s Day gift!!

You will need:

Start by cleaning your mug with alcohol. I didn’t take a picture of that exciting step. But here it is afterwards, all shiny and ready to go.Apply your adhesive stencil. I used my Silhouette Cameo and some vinyl to create the word “daddy”. Don’t worry if you don’t have one because you can buy adhesive letters in a craft store. Or, if you’re really good, you can paint it on without a stencil!Put a little paint on your foam pouncer, and pounce away. Completely fill in your stencil but don’t go crazy and put it on too thick.Carefully remove your stencil before the paint dries. It won’t be pretty if you wait too long. I would probably suggest that you paint your word, remove the stencil, and let it dry for a day. Then do the thumbprints. But, I have no patience. So this is when I did mine. Dab a very small amount of paint on your little goober’s thumb {it’s non-toxic}, and stamp two thumbprints at an angle, overlapping each other at the bottom, to form a heart-ish shape. I was hoping to get more obvious thumbprints, but our daughter had another idea. After trying about 547 times, this was the best I could do! Now comes the hard part. You need to wait 21 days for the paint to cure. It will be top-rack dishwasher safe, if you do. I probably won’t put his in the dishwasher just in case, but I’m still waiting for it to cure completely. By the time Father’s Day rolls around, my hubby will have two whole weeks to stare at it before I let him use it!!Um. I’m thinking of making one for myself. Is that a Father’s Day foul?? I don’t drink coffee, but I would love to have a “mama” mug for hot cocoa! I know he’s going to love it! I like to imagine him doing cartwheels every morning when he sees his new coffee mug. If this doesn’t turn his morning frown, upside down, I don’t know what will. I hope I spared you the headache of trying to come up with a gift idea for that special man in your life. Give dad a meaningful gift that he deserves. And don’t stress or spend a lot of money doing it! It’s easy, inexpensive, and extra special! Want to make all of this for dad?? After you finish your mug, you can get the free tie bunting and Father's Day card printables to match!! Go here to get them!! If you make dad a mug, I would love to see it!! Send me a picture!! Pretty please.
