- Ca’ D’ Zan, Florida, USA
This beautiful Venetian villa in Sarasota, Florida was once the home of John Ringling, but by the mid 1990’s was empty and suffering from some serious neglect. It was chosen to be the mansion in the film Great Expectations, and was then giving a complete renovation in 2002. It’s now back to its former glory, and available for wedding ceremonies.
- Chateau du Vaux le Vicomte, Maincy, France
If you really want to push the boat out, this 17th Century chateau is available for weddings, and would make a gorgeous backdrop to any ceremony. It was also featured as the home of bad guy Hugo Drax in Moonraker, the 1979 Bond blockbuster starring Roger Moore. - Villa del Balbianello, Lake Como, Italy
If you’re a Star Wars fan, then this might be the wedding venue for you, as it was where Anakin Skywalker and Padme Amidala get married in prequels, and it’s available for your own wedding day too. It’s also set in an absolutely gorgeous location, right on the shores of Lake Como. Oh, and just to make it even more appealing, it was also featured in Casino Royale, meaning you can follow in the footsteps of a Skywalker and 007.
- Highclere Castle, Newbury, United Kingdom
One of the most recognisable buildings in England, Highclere Castle would make a stunning wedding venue, and the whole castle can be booked for large ceremonies. You’ll probably recognise it for the starring role it has in the BBC’s Downton Abbey, the hit drama that draws in viewers from all over the world.
