This has to be one of the cutest ideas I’ve come across lately! I found these adorable Tiny Trees by Camilla at Family Chic and couldn’t wait to make some. I have a stash of wine corks and was so excited to finally find a good use for them. This is such a genius idea! And simple too.You can hop on over to view Camilla’s tutorial, and I’ll tell you how I made mine below. I put them together just a little differently, but either way will work just fine! You will need:
- Artificial tree clippings
- Hot Glue Gun
1. Cut some artificial tree clippings. I just used scissors and cut some off a wreath.
2. Open your scissors and use one of the sharp tips to carefully push down into the top center of the cork. Twist slightly as you’re pushing it into the cork to create a small hole. It doesn't need to be very deep since we’ll be gluing it in place.
3. Put a dab of hot glue on the wire at the end of your clipping, and press into the hole.
At this point, you can give your trees a little trim to tidy them up, but I left mine au naturel.
And you’re done! It seriously took me about two minutes to make all three. And I had all the supplies on hand already. That’s my kind of project!
There are so many fun ways to use these! Right now mine are being used as decorations, but I have so many other ideas for them too. Like maybe on plates set at the table for Christmas dinner... or tied to Christmas presents... or as holiday party favors... so many possibilities!
How would/will you use these cute little mini cork trees? I would love to hear your ideas!
