2013 “Happy New Year!” Printable

It's almost time to celebrate the new year, and I've got a fun printable for you! I shared it at Love, Pomegranate House {Talitha is the bomb, you must check out her blog!} yesterday, and I'm super excited to share it here with you today!
I have to admit, I do have a slight obsession with word-filled shapes. I can’t help it, they are so fun to make! Each number in this printable is filled with the phrase “Happy New Year!” and is easy to read once printed. It’s hard to get a good shot of it with such small words, but I promise, it’s not blurry! Here is a zoomed-in image to show you what I mean:Of course it won’t print that large, but it will be legible. The picture below doesn’t do it justice! Once you click the link to download it, you’ll see what it will actually look like when printed. The watercolors are so pretty!

This is a free 8x10 landscape print, just for you! All you have to do is click the link below to download and print!

“Let it Snow” Printable Gift Tags

Just a few more days until Christmas! Are you ready? I’m not. But it’s okay, we can all panic together! So, as you may have noticed, I am now an affiliate for Life-n-Reflection! I am so excited to be working with Kristy! She is such a talented designer and offers TONS of adorable printables and photo templates in her boutique. I could not wait to dive in when she sent me a few goodies this month!
Let it Snow Printable Gift TagsI used Kristy's Let it Snow overlays to whip up some adorable little gift tags for you! I placed them on some chalkboard backgrounds and they turned out so cute! These overlays are not only great for printables, but for photos as well! They are super easy to work with. If you're interested in using overlays but have never tried them before, just watch this video to help you get started!

My printer was running out of ink and I was unable to get to the store to buy more. Because it snowed. Ironic? I think so. The colors are off {purple-ish instead of black is not so pretty, hopefully no one will notice!}, but here is a tag on one of the snowball ornaments I made for a few friends! I just punched a hole in the top of the tag and tied it on with string.Let it Snow Printable Gift TagsInstead of punching a hole in the tag, you could just sew them all together and wrap them around your gift! See what I mean about my ink issues? Yikes! Let it Snow Printable Gift TagsMr. Hubby saw the printed sheet, and thought it was just a regular printable. And I actually like that idea. I think it would look super cute in a frame! I bet there are tons of creative ways to use these!

All you need to do is download the 8.5x11 printable below! There are 20 tags. Just print, cut, and punch a hole in the top to tie on your gift! You can write who it's to and from on the back!Let it Snow Printable Gift Tags

I love that these can be used for Christmas and even after the holidays. Perfect for winter birthdays! Please enjoy them!

I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas and make lots of lovely memories! I'll see you next week!

Champagne Glass Snow Scene

I have a fun idea to share with you today! You’ll get three birds with one stone out of this one! First, it makes a great gift. Second, it’s pretty Christmas décor. And third, it also covers your New Year’s celebrations! Just tie some ribbon around the stems and include a bottle of champagne. BAM! You’re all set for New Year’s Eve too! Obviously you’ll have to dump out the snow and tree first, but you can always save it for next year!
Champagne Glass Snow Scene
I had a ridiculously hard time trying to get pictures of these. But trust me, they are beautiful in person! The trees could not fit more perfectly, but you could put all kinds of different things in them too!

You will need:

  • Champagne glasses {got a 4 pack at Walmart}
  • Trees {found a pack at Joann in the Christmas section}
  • Powdered snow flurries

1. Pour a little powdered snow into your glasses.

2. Chop off the tree stand if it’s too big to fit in the bottom, and stick your tree down into the glass. The thin shape of the glass is perfect for holding the tree in place!

That’s it! Super fast. Super easy. Inexpensive. And pretty! Champagne Glass Snow SceneI’ve got two on our dining room table. They are going to look so pretty during Christmas dinner with some lit candles!

They would make great gifts for the hostess too! Although you might want to put something over the top to keep the snow from flying around if a crazy driver will be transporting these. Shh! Don’t tell my mom that’s why I sent her off with tin foil over hers! ;)

Wine glasses could also be fun to use! There are so many possibilities with this one. Tell me your ideas! I’m sure I’ll be giving more of these as gifts in the future, and would love some more inspiration!

Mini Cork Trees

This has to be one of the cutest ideas I’ve come across lately! I found these adorable Tiny Trees by Camilla at Family Chic and couldn’t wait to make some. I have a stash of wine corks and was so excited to finally find a good use for them. This is such a genius idea! And simple too.Mini Cork TreesYou can hop on over to view Camilla’s tutorial, and I’ll tell you how I made mine below. I put them together just a little differently, but either way will work just fine!Mini Cork TreesYou will need:

  • Artificial tree clippings
  • Corks
  • Scissors
  • Hot Glue Gun

1. Cut some artificial tree clippings. I just used scissors and cut some off a wreath.

2. Open your scissors and use one of the sharp tips to carefully push down into the top center of the cork. Twist slightly as you’re pushing it into the cork to create a small hole. It doesn't need to be very deep since we’ll be gluing it in place.

3. Put a dab of hot glue on the wire at the end of your clipping, and press into the hole.

At this point, you can give your trees a little trim to tidy them up, but I left mine au naturel.
Mini Cork TreesAnd you’re done! It seriously took me about two minutes to make all three. And I had all the supplies on hand already. That’s my kind of project!
Mini Cork TreesThere are so many fun ways to use these! Right now mine are being used as decorations, but I have so many other ideas for them too. Like maybe on plates set at the table for Christmas dinner... or tied to Christmas presents... or as holiday party favors... so many possibilities!

How would/will you use these cute little mini cork trees? I would love to hear your ideas!
